Welcome to Phyllis Joris, Program Manager

NeighborSpace of Baltimore County is very happy to announce the hiring of our new Program Manager, Phyllis Joris. Below, please find a note from Phyllis and know how excited we are to welcome her to our team. Phyllis is taking this position that was previously filled by Patrick Filbert.

Hello Friends of NeighborSpace of Baltimore County,
I am honored to join the NeighborSpace team as the Program Manager. The NeighborSpace mission speaks to several of my passions – community, the outdoors, equity – and I’m excited to dedicate my time and energy to making it a reality.

Originally from Belgium, I graduated from college with a master’s degree in mathematics. My husband and I now live in Cockeysville with our five children: four boys and a girl between the ages of 6 and 12.

Over the years, I have volunteered with a few different local non-profits, and I am currently the PTA President at my children’s elementary school. These engagements have allowed me to build up experience recruiting and managing volunteers, and planning and running events, which I hope to put to good use as Program Manager.

My favorite place to unwind is my garden. Whether I’m removing invasives, planting natives, or simply weeding, I find it a great way to recharge. I look forward to rolling up my sleeves on the NeighborSpace sites as well.
I hope to meet you in person sometime soon but in the meantime, please feel free to email me at phyllis@neighborspacebaltimorecounty.org.
